This was by far the worst decision we made for our wedding. We experienced serious issues with both drivers assigned to our wedding, which made it feel less like an isolated mistake and more like a company-wide problem with communication, organization, and reliability. Even more frustrating, however, were our attempts to resolve the situation with the owner afterward.
We chose this company because they were one of the cheapest options and appeared to have overwhelmingly positive reviews. After our experience, I seriously question how many negative reviews may have gone unposted because of pressure by the owner.
Full description of our experience:
The shuttle arrived 30 minutes late to our ceremony because the drivers “fat fingers” selected the wrong location- yes, that was the owner’s exact explanation to me afterward. There was no communication initiated from the driver to either the guests on the shuttle or to our wedding planner. As a result, guests were confused, stressed, and upset while trying to determine if they were going to miss our ceremony.
Things got even worse at the after party when dealing with a different driver. While I was intoxicated and getting off the bus, the driver told me I needed to move the scheduled pickup time from 1:00 AM to 12:30 AM. I then spent a large portion of my time at the after party trying to notify guests about the earlier pickup time, only for the shuttle to not arrive at 12:30 anyway. Guests who had been drinking were left confused about transportation plans late at night and many of them ended up making other arrangements. When the driver finally did arrive, she did not know where to take guests, and one of my friends had to use Siri to provide directions to the hotel. This was not only extremely frustrating, but a huge safety concern.
My attempts to resolve this with the owner only added to our dissatisfaction with the company. Given the significant disruption to our wedding day and the money we lost on bar service we were unable to use because of the delays, I requested a partial refund of $1,000. Instead of taking accountability, the owner repeatedly excused the behavior of his staff, incorrectly claimed that everyone had signed a “non-defamation clause” preventing bad reviews (not the meaning of a non-defamation clause if he said that to you!), and ultimately offered only $560 contingent upon agreeing not to leave a bad review.
Because the payment was made through Venmo, neither my bank nor Venmo provided meaningful assistance. At this point, I would rather warn other couples than accept $560 in exchange for staying silent.
